The Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavor Awards offer financial and academic support to students representing a wide range of majors/disciplines who seek to carry out both early and advanced independent research and creative endeavors under the mentorship of Northeastern faculty members.

Two types of awards are available to support the execution of undergraduate research projects and creative endeavors:

Early Research/Creative Endeavors Awards

These awards seek to encourage all Northeastern undergraduates, but especially first- and second-year students, to undertake research and creative endeavors early in their studies.

Ranging from $500-$1,000, these awards may be used to fund expenses including, but not limited to: purchase of supplies and software; up to 50% of travel costs directly related to data collection; and translation or interpretation fees in connection with fieldwork and interviews.

Advanced Research/Creative Endeavors Awards

These awards seek to encourage all Northeastern undergraduates, but especially third-year students and above, to undertake advanced research and creative endeavors.

Ranging from $1,000-$3,000, these awards may be used to fund expenses including, but not limited to: purchase of supplies and software; up to 50% of travel costs directly related to data collection; and translation or interpretation fees in connection with fieldwork and interviews.
